A Very Pipal Christmas

Christmas was so much fun this year! It is true, that seeing the Christmas season through the eyes of a child makes the holidays all the more amazing than they already are! Lucas is still a bit young to understand, but we really tried to explain to him that Christmas celebrates Jesus' birth. Of course, we can't get through December without appearances by Santa either (or 'Pepe' as Lucas will call him! ha!).

We made a trip up to Rochester (a first for David and Claire!) on December 22nd, and stayed with Grandpa Mark and Grandma Connie for the first few nights. We enjoyed wonderful meals, cookies, family time, and playing in the snow! We went to Concord Church on Christmas Eve - it was really nice to introduce the twins to many of our friends from church. We moved over to Grandma Joanne and Grandpa Jerry's house on the evening of Christmas, and continued to enjoy wonderful meals, cookies, family time, and playing in the snow! It was fun to see our friends the Stutzs' and the Smith's (and to meet baby Bennett!). The kids really enjoyed playing together, which we don't get to do often enough! We were supposed to head home on December 27th, but a huge storm dropping 14" swept through, so we decided to stay an extra day. It was nice that Eric had already planned to take off of work the entire week anyway.

On December 29th, Grandma Irene, Grandpa Bob, and Auntie Michele came to visit our house. It was nice to be back home and spend New Year's with my family. Lucas enjoyed opening more presents and playing in the snow some more. And we also enjoyed more family time and some more yummy meals and cookies (I'm sensing a pattern here!!). Eric and I also had a nice time at our neighbor's New Year's Eve party while Mimi and Grandpa stayed at home with the kids!

Can't wait for next Christmas when the twins will be mobile and oh so much fun! It will be so wonderful to share the magic with all three kiddos!!
