Preparing for Baby Pipal

We found out we were pregnant the morning of May 14, 2010, but the reality of what was happening didn't set in for a few more weeks! We announced our news to our parents and siblings over Memorial Day weekend, but chose to keep quiet from friends and extended family for a few more weeks until we finished up the first trimester. It was so wonderful to share the news we've been waiting so long to share with those we love! Baby Pipal is still a few weeks away from his or her debut into the world, but already he or she is so loved and so blessed!!

We are very fortunate to have had a relatively easy pregnancy thus far - no morning sickness or nausea, and very little fatigue. Other than the constant hunger, I didn't feel much different than when I wasn't pregnant! Baby P has been growing right on target all along, moving a lot, and being a very good "resident," in general :)

Baby Pipal is now 35 weeks along, and is continuing to bake and grow until arrival day! Baby P so lucky to have been showered with love twice - once in NJ and once in Rochester, and we are currently going through all of the wonderful gifts and getting Baby's room all set to go! Furniture is schedule to be delivered and set-up in about a week, and once everything is in, we will share photos of the nursery.

So, we are currently at the point where we are in nesting mode -- making last-minute purchases, thinking about packing hospital bags, installing the car seat, and putting together items like the swing, bouncer seat, and stroller. With Christmas only a week away, we are busy, busy! I'm glad that Boeing gives it's employees the week off between Christmas Eve and New Year's - the time off is very much needed to spend with family, rest, and get fully prepared for Baby P's arrival!!

2010 in Review...

Hello Family and Friends!

Eric and I have been meaning to start this blog for some time, and now as our family is expanding, we thought the timing was perfect! 2010 has proven to be a banner year for the Pipals, and one that we will surely never forget!

January started off with the two of us taking a trip to Puerto Rico, Jen starting a new job as an Industrial Engineer at Boeing, and ended with the addition of our golden retriever puppy, Darby! Whirlwind for sure - little did we know that the rest of the year would continue to move at the same pace.

Darby kept us pretty busy for the first few months of the year - getting used to a new routine and more responsibility, puppy-proofing the house, training and puppy kindergarten classes, waking up multiple times a night to a crying pup, and no more sleeping in on the weekends. We didn't realize it at the time, but, in many ways, caring for Darby was getting us prepared for the next big step in our life...

....becoming parents!
