Evan is 5 months old!

This was quite a month for Evan!

First and foremost, we finally have a roller! On March 15 (20 weeks), Evan rolled from his back to his belly several times for Daddy! Lucas and I had just returned from a walk with Darby, and as we walked in the door, we could hear Eric cheering Evan on. Eric witnessed the first roll, Lucas witnessed the second, and I came in on his third roll! And then...4 days later, he started to roll from his belly to his back! There's no stopping this little guy now that he realizes he can be mobile. Evan will roll several times in a sequence and can move several feet across the floor, as well as in a circle! He is also already attempting to move forward. When he is laying on his belly, he will push his tush up into the air and kind of use his knees to inch forward. If only he knew what to do with those arms! Soon enough!

Evan's nighttime sleep isn't as quiet as it used to be. He will usually wake several times each night and require his paci to be popped back in. And maybe one to two times a week, a middle of the night nursing session is in order.

Bedtime is around 8 or 8:30 each night and Evan will sleep until 8 or 8:30am. Morning naps (when we are home) last from about 9:30am to 10:30 or 11, and he still takes 2-3 naps in the afternoon. Sometimes his 2nd nap is longer and other days his 3rd nap is longer. Usually a quick 30 minute cat nap is necessary around 5:30 or 6pm. This schedule is SO different from the older three kids' schedules that it's kind of throwing us for a loop! Our other kids had earlier bedtimes and therefore work for the day much earlier, but this 8am-8pm schedule seems to be working well and Evan definitely gets enough sleep at night and throughout the day for a 5 month old!

Oh this kid and his hair! He has a crazy cowlick and a comb over!

And sometimes we try to brush it, but I'm not sure it looks much better!

The eyes definitely have it with this little guy!

Evan loves to smile and laugh at his siblings. Here is an adorable video of Lucas dancing and making noises to make Evan laugh:

We've been dealing with some eczema on many parts of Evan's body...arms, legs, head, chest and back. It's not constant, but Evan has inflammation that is being triggered by something. Our pediatrician believes that Evan could have a sensitivity to something that I am eating, so I have eliminated dairy from my diet to see if Evan's skin clears up. It's been about 3 weeks and his skin seems much clearer, though he is still scratching at his head a lot, so it seems that he may be somewhat itchy. Though his skin seems clearer, he has had a few days of inflammation here and there. At some point, I am to add dairy back into my diet to see if the eczema comes back. If dairy doesn't seem to be the culprit, then eliminating soy or wheat would be tried next.

Evan enjoys blowing raspberries back and forth at anyone who will play the game with him. He also has this awesome pterodactyl scream!

Evan has started standing up in the exersaucer and he loves his new vantage point of the craziness that is our home! And bath time is also a favorite part of his day.

We love you, Evan!
