Lucas at 28 months!

I wasn't planning on doing an update on Lucas until he hit 2 and 1/2 but he is doing so many new things that I wanted to remember this point in his life.

Loves:

- Bunny and Elmo (his lovie and stuffed animal)

- music. He has an amazing and wonderful love for it!

- music class, pretending to be Miss Andrea and holding class at home with his instruments

- playing the guitar (one of two of his or the spatula if that's what's readily available)

- singing and dancing

- making Claire and David laugh

- tormenting Darby and throwing the ball to her

- climbing (and giving mommy heart palpitations) - out of his crib (time for a bed!), in & out of David & Claire's cribs, onto countertops, on playgrounds. Obviously, only 1 of these is approved!

- Thomas the Tank Engine, Bubble Guppies, Dora the Explorer

- any and all trucks

- cleaning - vacuuming, swiffering, wiping down the walls and furniture, picking up toys 

- being independent - his Favorite phrases include, "No, I get it" and "No, I do it". He wants to (and we usually let him, with careful observation or assistance, otherwise a meltdown can ensue): walk up and down stairs unassisted, climb in & out of his carseat and buckle the straps, open and close doors.

- playing outside

- playing with balls

- running! We don't see him walk very often.

- trying to figure out how things work - aka trying to figure out how to open everything and anything he can get his hands on. You would think this kid is the product of two engineers ;) :) 

Milestones:

- can identify all of his letters and knows what letter many words begin with (mainly people but also some objects)

- spells his name and can identify it in writing

- knows his first, middle and last name 

- sings ABC song

- counts to thirteen (and thinks he's counting to fifteen when he says "thirteen" three times..."eleven, twelve, thirteen, thirteen, thirteen!!!")

- counts to 10 in Spanish

- knows all shapes and colors

- sings along when we sing music class songs, twinkle twinkle little star, Old MacDonald, Johnny Appleseed prayer, Ho Hey, Eagles Fight Song, Take Me Out to the Ball Game

- sings some songs solo - "ABCs", "Hello Song" and "Goodbye Song" from music class

Food:

- Likes: milk, all fruit, peppers, carrots, green beans (prefers them raw), cherry tomatoes, chicken, pork chops, bread, butter, dips (ranch dressing, balsamic, ketchup), hummus, grilled cheese, oatmeal (mommy's pumpkin creation), letter pretzels, turkey, cheese, pancakes 

- Dislikes: eggs, fish

Sleep:

- night: 8:30pm-7am

- 1 nap: 1pm for 2-3 hours
