Here we “GROW” again!

Back when we first started this blog, it was called “The Growing Pipals.” Shortly after Lucas was born, we changed the name to “The Pipals”. Since our family wasn’t really growing at the time, it seemed sort of funny to use the original title. So, the question is, should we change it back again? Our family is growing with full force as we are expecting to welcome TWINS into this world in early October!!!

We went in for an early ultrasound on Eric’s birthday, February 17th, and this is what we were surprised with! Two little black holes that each housed a tiny little baby, barely the size of a poppy seed – fraternal twins! Happy Birthday, indeed!

10 days later, the babies grew a ton and we were able to see two flickering little heartbeats! Just amazing!

We are currently 17 weeks along and things seem to be progressing well. The babies are fairly close to each other in size. In the very early weeks, they were growing within 1mm of each other, and at our 13 week ultrasound, Baby A was bigger than Baby B by 3mm. So, very close. They are both measuring larger than Lucas was at that point, but, then again, he is a little peanut. He may end up the smaller big brother :)

This time we are hoping to find out the sexes of the babies at our 20 week anatomy scan! It still has to be scheduled, but hopefully we will know if we are Team Pink, Blue, or Purple (boy/girl) by early June!

Fortunate, grateful, blessed. This is how Eric and I feel about the impending arrival of these babies. Some days, we can’t believe this is how our life is turning out. Rough journey to get here and all – we wouldn’t have it any other way! This is where we were being led to. It is just amazing the way our Lord works and the prayers that He answers! We are so thankful for these gifts of life – Lucas and his new siblings! And, yes, of course, we are overwhelmed, anxious, and excited, as well!

In other news (if the news of two babies wasn’t enough)…We sold our house and are under contract to buy a new house. We will be moving to Chalfont, PA which is near Doylestown, PA, in mid-July. Right around that same time, I will be resigning from Boeing to become a stay-at-home-mom to our little brood. Chalfont is about an hour north of where we live now and is very close to where Eric works in Hatfield! Yay! More to come on the baby- and home-front...
